Hi Year 7!
I am invigilating the GCSE Art Exam, so will not be with you in your lesson today.
Using the resources on Showbie and the sheet left out for you on your tables, please complete a Cezanne artist research page in your sketchbooks (handwritten). Choose from one of the three Cezanne still life paintings I have selected for you and analyse it, just as you do with the LLAMA activity! As you do not have any homework at the moment due to revision, you must complete this task during the lesson, which will count towards your end of year grade.
A couple of reminders:
- Follow the instructions and look at the examples. A lot of marks get lost due to misreading or not reading the task properly! You must use all of the formal elements in your analysis.
- Make sure to analyse not just describe. Think LLAMA! What can you see, but don't stop there! What effect does that have? E.g. 'There is a skull.' (This is just description!)....OR 'There is a skull, it has been painted with blue shadows suggesting melancholy and the inclusion of the skull itself suggests connotations of death and sadness.' (This is description, analysis and meaning!)
