Please read through ‘Write like a short story writer’. Please ignore the class activity on page 37 -38. Build a character profile on pages 52-3, but leave the development activities on p.55 for now. 

Then read Kate Chopin’s short story and annotate what works well in the story. Think about: structure - plot development, character development, setting, mood, tone, language features and literary techniques, themes. How does the story engage the reader? We’ll discuss your findings in next Monday’s lesson.
