Hello All, We had good classes this week. We started with our D Major Scale and then moved on to working on French Folk Song. A few kids have practiced, but many are not putting in the time. It is very clear by the way they play in class.  Please be sure they see the practice list and the videos for helping with French Folk Song. They are all in previous emails as well as in their google classrooms for both the strings class and their classroom teacher. How can you fix a problem that you can't hear?  We talked about using more bow. We played in a circle so that everyone had to play a note. This helped to show what we know and what we don't. There is no shortcut to learning an instrument. It takes practice. It can be 15 minutes a day or more on some days than others, but it must happen.  Practice for this week D Major Scale - 3X Use More Bow! make a big sound. Be sure you have the proper bow hold and instrument position Twinkle Twinkle Little Star - play it for fun! use a big bow for a big confident sound. French Folk Song - Break it into sections. Do one or 2 lines at a time. Play each section 8X French Folk Song - play through the whole song - 2X Play for families! Put in the time and effort and you will see a lot of improvement!
