We had a good class this week. We played French Folk Song, Twinkle and Are You Sleeping. After that we learned a song I called "Are You Grumpy"! We learned a new note. It is the F natural.  We play "Are you sleeping" except with the new note!  "Are You Grumpy"! Violin and Viola - we learned a low second finger. The second finger will touch the first finger instead of the 3rd finger.  I call it a "low 2".      -  When doing the "morning bells are ringing", I want you  to practice it like this.        When you go to the D string with the 3rd finger, only put down the 3.  Not the 1 or 2. This way the second finger can go to its new spot easily.                         (only 3) Line 3  -  0 1 0 3 STOP   reach back the 2nd finger to make it a low 2.  Once you have done that, practice what comes next.  Cello - you use the 2nd finger instead of the 3rd finger Bass - you use 2nd finger instead of 4th finger.  We also learned a completely new song called Bohemian Folk Song.  This uses the new note! We then finished most of the solos.  ----------------------------------------------- Practice for this week.  Are You Grumpy - MAKE SURE YOUR FINGERS ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE    Violin and Viola - practice the spot described above - 10X                               Play whole song - 5X    Cello and Bass - 8X French Folk Song - 4X Are You Sleeping - 3X Bohemian Folk Song  -       A section - 8X      B section - 8X If you want to put it together it is  "AABABA"
